Help to identify WE Small Wood Wall Phone

| These are pcitures of an old WE wood wall phone, it looks like orginally it was a wood tinger box, later on, converted to a phone. It has a label indicating it was inspected on 1919. Were the wood ringer box converted to complete phone untis? |
