A couple of weeks ago a friend called me and asked if I wanted an old telephone that I had installed while working for the telephone company. I didn’t recall what it was, but since it was an “old phone,” I said sure! I met with her this morning and she gave me a box containing a 701 ITT/Kellogg Cinderella instrument that was manufactured in 1967. It is actually in great shape for its age and is complete with original cords and dial-lamp holder. I did not get the compact ringer box but I have a couple dozen ITT/Kellogg ringers that would be appropriate for this model. Actually, ISTR that we generally installed AECo ringer boxes since they came in colors that better matched the Cinderellas, Princesses, and Petites than of the beige color of ITT’s compact ringers. It was kinda neat receiving another (I have several already) telephone that I had originally installed 41-years ago! |
