Here are a couple of photos of a Western Electric "Black Enamel" No. 10 Tapered-Shaft 1899 Candlestick. It has a black 7-digit Transmitter and black lettered Transmitter Cup , Western Electric Longpole, Receiver, * Mouthpiece, and new green cloth cords. The only marking on the phone, other than the Transmitter and Cup is a very small stamping on the rear of the perch that says: PAT APPLIED FOR. The base is the transitional one found on all the later Candlestick phones, as opposed to the traditional bronze one found on the nickel plated No. 10 candlesticks. |
