Here is Bill Daniels' Watts & Co. Coffin. Prior to him showing up at this show with this one-of-a-kind Coffin, I had no clue that a company named Watts & Co. ever existed. Conjecture is this Watts name is responsible for the Watts portion of the Bell System Contractor named Davis & Watts of Baltimore Md. This phone is stamed with the Watts & Co. name on the Crank, Crank Escutcheon, and the Lightning arrester. The Receiver holder on the right side is original, and has an ingenious, yet simple mechanism that allows the phone to go "off hook" when the receiver is snapped out of the holder. |
