This is picture of a Panel Sender frame (1933). Each Sender frame actually consisted of three bays. As can be seen here a switchman has the doors open on one sender. From the switchman is five senders then to the right their sequences then the next set of 5 senders. Each sender required 3 sequence switches. Lastly to the right is the Decoder connector bay which allowed the sender to connect to the Decoder for translation information about the dialed number. Note on the top left of the picture 4 bulbs. These are the isle alarm lamps. Generally White, Yellow or Red to direct the switchman to the correct isle with an alarm. . |
