I acquired this W.E. stick recently that has an early W.E. microphone. I have not learned much about it but in looking at Boettinger's,"THE TELEPHONE BOOK," I noted on Page 171 that Theordore Vail's successor, H.B. Thayer, is using one of these microphones to talk by radio telephone from his office in New York to England, on January 14, 1923. At least I now know how and when it was used. I am planning on making some comments about Boettinger in a future issue of the TCI newsletter. |
